Mental Health App for Australian Workplaces
With the impending psychosocial hazard regulations knocking at Victorian Business doors, we are so excited to announce the launch of The Team App.
These regulations will require employers to proactively identify, assess, and manage psychosocial hazards in the workplace, treating them with the same level of importance as physical hazards.
Workplace Support, Simplified
What if mental health support at work was as simple as scanning a code?
We’re proud to announce the launch of The Team App, a revolutionary digital tool created by The Team Approach to give Australian workplaces an accessible, practical way to improve mental health, workplace wellbeing, and psychosocial safety.
We built the app after years of seeing the same obstacles. Systems were reactive, confusing, or out of reach. Teams wanted to support their people, but the tools on offer rarely fit the shape of real working days. We decided to change that. With the incoming regulations we also want to make the transition as easy as possible.
The Team App is free to every organisation we work with. Access is straightforward: staff scan a QR code displayed in their workplace, and the app opens instantly. No passwords, no red tape. From there, they can explore resources, check in privately, and find help without delay.
The Team App includes:
- Essential Contacts Directory
- Workplace Wellbeing Audits
- Anonymous Check-ins
- Confidential, Encrypted Technology
- Instant Downloadable Resource Hub
- Intuitive, Human-Centric Design
- Compliance Automation, Simplified

Most Australian jurisdictions now include psychosocial hazards in their work health and safety laws, and Victoria has confirmed equivalent regulations will commence before year-end. The app supports employers through that shift, giving staff private tools while helping organisations maintain a clear, repeatable psychosocial safety process.
The need for accessible support keeps growing. Work-related mental injuries represented 18 per cent of all new WorkCover claims in Victoria during 2023–24, up from 16 per cent the previous year. Nationally, mental health conditions accounted for 9 per cent of all serious workers’ compensation claims in 2021–22, a 36.9 per cent rise since 2017–18. Each claim reflects real people and real time away from work; a cost felt by employees and businesses alike.
A 2023 report from PwC Australia found that organisations investing in proactive mental health initiatives such as EAP counselling see an average return of $2.30 for every dollar spent. These businesses also experience stronger staff retention, lower absenteeism, and higher productivity overall.
Lou Lugsdin, our founder, puts it simply:
“Let’s be clear: investing in employee mental health isn’t just ethically right; it’s financially smart. Because when you look after your people, your people look after your business.”
We created The Team App because support should be easy to reach. Employees can open the resource hub on their devices in seconds and find credible information or immediate contacts. Managers and business owners gain a consistent approach to workplace wellbeing audits and compliance tasks without extra paperwork.
The app sits alongside existing supports, offering clear tools that staff can use independently. It helps organisations meet psychosocial safety duties in a way that is practical and repeatable.

If your organisation partners with us for EAP counselling and workplace wellbeing coaching, you can activate The Team App today. Contact your coordinator to receive your workplace QR code, or visit contact us for more details.
We’re committed to supporting Australian workplaces in cities, regional centres, and remote sites with tools built for today’s challenges and ready when your people need them.
